The random file, as specified in the $random_file perl variable was unopenable.

The file was not found on your file system. This means that it has either not been created or the path you have specified in $trrandom_file is incorrect.

Get ready, it's coming around again. Friday's the day to show your appreciate for that guy with the who's always got a pocketful of pens and an Ethernet cable stuck in his back pocket. It's time to show your thanks to that gal who's' always working late on Fridays and sits by herself in the lunchroom reading a computer magazine. That's right, Friday is the annual System Administrator Appreciation Day.

Started three years ago by Ted Kekatos, a system administrator (SA) in Chicago, SA Appreciation Day is the one day out of the year that you've just gotta be nice to the geeks who keep your corporate network humming.

If you think that your system administrator is just another petty cog in the commercial machinery, just try living without her for a few days. When you're printer stops working and your e-mail starts self-deleting, you'll start to miss her.

Dave's Opinion

Don't forget, nothin' says lovin' like somethin' from the oven. Bake a cake or cookies for the geeks in your life. Everyone likes a treat, now and again. You never know, your batch of cookies may just get your computer upgraded!
